Train accident in Fetești: a woman deceased, a child injured

On Monday, around 5:10 PM, the Fetești Fire Station was requested to intervene at a railway accident involving the InterRegio train 11048, on the route Constanța – Bucharest, and two people who were crossing the railway.

At the scene, a fire truck, a SMURD ambulance, two crews from the Ialomița County Ambulance Service, and the SMURD helicopter from Constanța intervened. The crews found a woman approximately 70 years old in cardiac arrest, who was declared dead after resuscitation efforts, and a child about five years old, conscious, with multiple traumas, who was transported to the hospital.

Approximately 200 passengers from the train did not require medical assistance. The competent authorities are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
