Rail traffic interrupted on the Bucharest-Constanta line, after a train fatally hit a woman

A railway accident occurred in Constanța County, between Valu lui Traian and Basarabi, resulting in the death of a woman. The train RE 11080, operated by Regio Călători, hit the victim, causing injuries incompatible with life.

Representatives of the National Railway Company CFR S.A. announced that intervention crews were sent to the scene, and the case was taken over by the competent authorities for investigation. Rail traffic was temporarily interrupted on both tracks between the two localities to allow for the conduct of interventions and investigations. The train IR 16085 remained at the Basarabi station until the completion of the police investigations.
