Firefighters intervened at a fire in Mureș County, where they discovered the charred body of a man approximately 60 years old.

The firefighters from the Târnăveni Fire Department were called out on the night from Saturday to Sunday to intervene in extinguishing a fire that broke out at a house in Viișoara, Mureș County, around 01:30. The fire affected an area of approximately 40 square meters, and inside the dwelling, the charred body of a man approximately 60 years old was found.

ISU Mureș stated that, from the initial investigations, the cause of the fire was determined to be the use of an open flame in enclosed spaces, most likely a candle. The intervention involved a fire truck, as well as support forces from ISU Sibiu, which brought a fire truck and a SMURD crew. The tragedy left the community in a state of shock, and the authorities continue investigations to clarify the exact circumstances of the incident.
