The Timișoara City Hall is preparing stricter rules for drivers who block access for sanitation vehicles. Authorities intend to introduce fines of up to 1,500 lei for car owners who do not move their vehicles during the announced cleaning periods. Representatives of the local administration emphasize that the interventions of the sanitation teams are frequently hindered by cars parked on the roadside, and a clear schedule of the streets will be communicated in advance.

Although some locals consider the measure justified, others find it excessive, calling for a reduction in the parking restriction intervals. The project will start on 18 streets, and the municipality will install information panels to notify drivers about sanitation interventions. The spokesperson for the City Hall, Silvana Andreaș, assured that no entire street will be blocked, but criticism continues from tenant associations.
