DIICOT prosecutors discovered that, in 2026, a 26-year-old man established a hallucinogenic mushroom cultivation in his home in Bucharest, being supported by two accomplices aged 24 and 27.
They allegedly sold the mushrooms at a price of 10 lei per gram, and the main suspect helped a co-defendant to develop his own cultivation by providing growing kits. Investigations revealed that the group was not limited to hallucinogenic mushrooms but also involved the sale of cannabis, ketamine, and cocaine.
Following searches conducted in Bucharest and Ilfov, over 50 growing kits, approximately 8 kilograms of mushrooms, and other illegal substances were confiscated.
Prosecutors proposed the preventive arrest of the three suspects, who were apprehended following these actions.
