The bill regarding the Romanian Academy has been withdrawn from the legislative circuit following the debates in the Senate.

The legislative proposal regarding the organization and functioning of the Romanian Academy was withdrawn on Monday from the legislative process, following a scandal in the plenary between PNL and USR. USR Senator, Ștefan Pălărie, stated that the withdrawal is due to his firm reaction against the proposed amendments, which he considered inappropriate and rushed.

In response, PNL Senator, Daniel Fenechiu, accused Pălărie of indecency and lack of collegiality, emphasizing that the proposal was formulated at the request of the Romanian Academy and adhered to all collaboration rules. Pălărie criticized the intention to amend the law in such a short time, considering it essential for laws to be debated calmly and rationally. He accused PNL, AUR, and PSD of attempting to promote a law with a specific agenda, which would negatively affect citizens. This situation highlighted the political tensions between the two parties in the context of legislative debates.
