A man from Vâlcea chased a bear with a shovel. The gendarmes sounded an alarm after this incident.

Recently, a bear was spotted near a household in Călimănești, and the owners tried to scare it away before the intervention teams arrived. They called 112, but got dangerously close to the animal, filming the incident. A man ran after the bear, trying to hit it with a shovel, which could have provoked an attack.

The Vâlcea Gendarmerie emphasized that such behaviors are extremely risky, as wild animals can react unpredictably. Although the incident did not result in any casualties, the gendarmes recommend that the population keep their distance from bears and immediately call 112 in case of an encounter. In recent days, there have been several calls regarding the presence of bears in inhabited areas, and a previous incident led to the killing of a calf by a bear in the commune of Boișoara, without causing injuries to locals.
