The unemployment rate registered at the national level decreased to 3.24% in April 2026

At the end of April 2026, the nationally registered unemployment rate was 3.24%, according to the National Agency for Employment (ANOFM).


This represents a decrease of 0.01 percentage points compared to the previous month and the same month of the previous year. The total number of registered unemployed was 259,160 people, of which 57,823 were receiving benefits, while 201,337 were not. Compared to the previous month, the number of beneficiaries decreased by 1,596, while the number of non-beneficiaries increased by 787.


Of the total, 68,888 unemployed came from urban areas, while 190,272 came from rural areas. The gender structure shows that 125,259 were women, and 133,901 were men. The most affected by unemployment were people over 55 years old, and those with university degrees represented only 4.65% of the total unemployed.
