A record-breaking rain hit Chiba Prefecture, east of Tokyo, during the night, causing massive flooding and disrupting transportation. Four people have died, one is missing, and thousands of people have been stranded in train stations and at Narita Airport.
Transportation disruptions have left approximately 7,000 people stranded at Narita, an airport spokesperson said, adding that all flights are scheduled to operate normally on Friday. Japan Airlines stated that some flights may experience delays, but no cancellations are expected at this time.
