Representatives of Midia Marine Terminal announced that the tugboat sunk in the Black Sea on March 18, which resulted in the death of two sailors and three being reported missing, will be raised on Wednesday, June 17.
The tugboat is located at a depth of 26 meters, and the lifting operation is estimated to take between five and six hours, depending on technical and weather conditions. Currently, work is underway to rotate the tugboat and ensure its buoyancy.
The incident occurred during the mooring maneuvers of the tanker Amades, when the tugboat Astana lost propulsion and sank. The crew, consisting of five Romanian sailors, was affected, and searches continue to find the three missing members. The families of the sailors claim that the tugboat was not prepared for the respective maneuver.
