Metrorex announced that, starting at 6:30 AM, the circulation of metro trains on Line 1 has resumed under normal conditions, including at the Piața Victoriei 2 station. This resumption took place after the completion of the intervention for removing the accumulated water at the Piața Victoriei station.
According to ISU Bucharest-Ilfov, the pumps used for water evacuation were removed from the tunnel after operating continuously throughout the night.
Before the resumption of normal circulation, trains were running between the Dristor 2 and Ștefan cel Mare stations, as well as between Republica and Gara de Nord 1, with boarding and disembarking of passengers at Gara de Nord 1 station.
The intervention for water evacuation lasted over 24 hours, involving 20 pumps and support from the Emergency Situations Inspectorate, Apa Nova, and the Ministry of National Defense. Metrorex ensured that specialized teams worked to restore safe operating conditions.
