Radu Miruță, the interim Minister of Defense and Transport, stated that the subway traffic in Bucharest will not be affected by the energy consumption limitation measures, as the impact on the population would be too great. Currently, reductions in the number of subway trains are not being considered, as the subway is a priority in the analysis of the importance of services for citizens.
Additionally, CFR has found a solution to supplement the diesel transport by adding an extra train per day to facilitate fuel deliveries from Oil Terminal, thus increasing transport capacity by 50%. Miruță emphasized that measures are being taken to minimize the effects of the international situation on Romania and that discussions are ongoing about resuming oil transport from Kazakhstan via the Black Sea. These measures are intended to reduce pressure on the domestic fuel market.
