The Gorj Police is investigating the destruction of a bank from the "Calea Eroilor" Ensemble, the fragments have been recovered for restoration.

A stone bench from the Monumental Ensemble ''Calea Eroilor'' in Târgu Jiu, located near the Gate of the Kiss, has been destroyed, and the police have initiated investigations.

The incident was reported after a piece of the bench broke off, and the officers of the Criminal Investigation Service from IPJ Gorj are investigating the circumstances of the monument's degradation, including the weather conditions. The detached fragments have been recovered by the ''Constantin Brâncuși'' Research, Documentation and Promotion Center for restoration. The ensemble, created by Brâncuși, has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage since 2024.
