The Silva Federation announced a protest meeting scheduled for April 28, aimed at drawing attention to the deep grievances of trade unionists regarding government measures that affect the standard of living, job security, and wage rights. The protest will be attended by foresters, railway workers, police officers, education staff, health workers, miners, steelworkers, energy workers, reservists, and retirees. The main demand of the Silva Federation is the repeal of Government Decision no. 123/2026 regarding the reorganization of Romsilva, deemed harmful to the sustainable management of forest heritage. The trade unionists are calling for the suspension of reorganization measures that affect jobs, respect for labor contracts, and the guarantee of wage rights. The protest is a reaction to the austerity imposed without social dialogue and to attacks on acquired rights. The leader of the Silva Federation, Silviu Geană, emphasizes the need for solidarity and decisive action to defend the dignity of workers.
