The Sibiu Tribunal has decided to reject the request made by the Romanian state, through the Brașov Regional General Directorate of Public Finances, to impose a precautionary seizure on the assets of former president Klaus Iohannis's family. The request was submitted in the context of a lawsuit in which the state is seeking compensation for the lack of use of a 1/2 share of a property in Sibiu, which the Iohannis family owned.

ANAF has notified the Iohannis family regarding a debt of 4.7 million lei, including penalties, for rents collected from the respective property, which they lost in court. Additionally, ANAF has taken half of the property in Sibiu as a result of an unclaimed inheritance. The tax authority stated that, considering the refusal to pay by the Iohannis family, it will continue legal actions to recover the owed amounts.
