On Wednesday, the Senate adopted, with 107 votes 'for', 4 'against' and 6 abstentions, the legislative initiative that increases the share of internships provided by universities from 50% to 75%. According to USR, this measure is an important step in strengthening the link between higher education and the demands of the labor market, providing students with opportunities to acquire relevant practical skills.

Senator Irineu Darău emphasized the need for universities to find solutions to increase the number of internships, having time until 2029-2030 to adapt to the new requirements. The adoption of this legislative initiative is considered by USR to have a positive impact on the educational and professional path of students, contributing to the formation of better-prepared graduates for current challenges. The initiative will be sent for promulgation.
