The Russian consul in Constanța, Andrei Kosilin, has left Romania after the Supreme Council of National Defense (CSAT) decided that he should be declared persona non grata, and the Consulate should be closed.
As a result of the decision, Kosilin was given a 72-hour deadline to leave the country.
The decision was made following the incident in which a Russian drone hit a residential building in Galați. Kosilin, appointed consul in January 2023, graduated, according to Russian media, from Moscow State University in 1991 and has held the rank of first-class counselor since 2012.
Before taking the position of consul general, he held various positions in the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and at the Russian Embassy in Romania.
