In the first 9 months of the year, the Romanian Police confiscated and destroyed approximately 4 tons of drugs, as part of an operation conducted in a controlled environment, adhering to environmental protection standards. Chief Commissioner Daniel-Alexandru Radu announced that these drugs come from criminal cases managed by the Police and DIICOT, following complex investigations and international cooperation.
Among the notable achievements is the dismantling of a transnational drug trafficking network and the seizure of 1.4 tons of pure heroin in the Port of Constanța, the largest quantity in Romania's history. In the period from January to September 2025, the Police and DIICOT conducted over 700 actions, resulting in the dismantling of 42 criminal groups, carrying out over 2,200 searches, and the detention of over 2,500 individuals. These actions led to the confiscation of significant quantities of drugs, with an estimated market value of tens of millions of euros.
