The Romanian Army has begun the most extensive recruitment process in the last decade, needing almost 7,000 soldiers and professional non-commissioned officers in military units from 38 counties and Bucharest.
The interest in recruitment is high. At the 15th Mechanized Brigade "Podu Înalt" in Iași, over 600 candidates have registered for the 250 available positions.
The commander of the brigade, Dan Valeru Orza, emphasized that the desire to join the army reflects the awareness of the security situation in the region.
Recruitments also include commando troops, and most positions are available in Constanța, followed by Cluj-Napoca, Brașov, and Vrancea.
The interim Minister of Defense, Radu Miruță, mentioned that an accelerated military equipment program also requires a well-trained human resource.
Candidates who pass the sports, medical, and psychological tests will undergo 12 weeks of training, with a net monthly salary of 4,300 lei, plus a food allowance.
Cristian Popovici, head of the Information and Public Relations Directorate of the Ministry of National Defense, stated that this opportunity represents a chance for Romanians to build a better future in the country.
