The Romanian Army destroys two Gerbera drones in the Neptun Deep area

The interim Minister of Defense, Radu Miruță, announced the destruction of two Gerbera drones by the EOD divers of the Romanian Army, in an exclusive economic zone, approximately 90 nautical miles from Constanța, near the Neptun Deep platform.

The drones were spotted by a civilian vessel conducting operations in the area, and a Coast Guard ship was dispatched to assess the situation. The Ministry of National Defense confirmed that the drones do not belong to Ukraine, and for navigational safety, it was decided to destroy them through controlled detonation. The Gerbera drones, of Russian origin, are used for reconnaissance or as decoy drones.

The operation was carried out under safe conditions, and a fragment of the drone was recovered for further analysis.
