The drinking water crisis affecting over 107,000 people in the counties of Prahova and Dâmbovița has generated severe criticism towards the Ministry of Environment. The President of Dâmbovița County Council, Corneliu Ștefan, stated that the indifference of the ministry and the National Administration "Apele Române" is outrageous, mentioning that the supply pipeline has been damaged for over six months without intervention. He emphasized that citizens should not have to bear the consequences of the wrong decisions made by central authorities.
Additionally, the President of Prahova County Council, Virgiliu Nanu, requested a swift intervention from the ministry, highlighting that the maintenance works at the Paltinu reservoir were coordinated under inappropriate conditions, which led to the cessation of drinking water supply. The Minister of Environment, Diana Buzoianu, conducted a visit to the affected counties to discuss solutions with local authorities.
