The police from Brașov and Mureș conducted 23 searches in a case of fuel theft from railway machinery.

Police in Brașov and Mureș counties conducted a large operation on Thursday, carrying out 23 searches in a criminal case related to the theft of diesel fuel from the machinery used for the modernization of a railway in Brașov. The action is coordinated by prosecutors from the Prosecutor's Office next to the Brașov Tribunal and involves the Criminal Investigation Service of the Brașov Police Inspectorate.

The investigation has revealed an organized criminal group made up of six men, employees of a railway works company, who began their criminal activity in October 2025. Subsequently, two more individuals from Brașov County joined the group. Additionally, another 17 individuals are suspected of similar crimes, having connections to the group's activities. The police will execute 25 summonses to hear the involved individuals.
