On Monday, the parliament adopted the legislative initiative proposed by AUR deputy Georgel Badiu, which establishes clear rules for the application of sanctions in case of violation of the placement norms for advertising means, such as billboards and banners. This law, which will be sent for promulgation, responds to the need to eliminate varied interpretations and non-uniform application of sanctions, according to a press release from AUR.

The adopted amendment specifies that the sanction regime from Law 185/2013 will respect the general rules from contraventional legislation, thus providing a unified framework for authorities and economic operators. Although the fines are not modified, the new regulation allows for the payment of half of the minimum fine. It is estimated that these provisions will reduce litigation and relieve the courts, contributing to the correction of legislative dysfunctions and the elimination of confusions in the application of the law.
