The packaging collection rate through SGR reached 82% in the first half of 2026

The System Administrator for Guarantee-Return, RetuRO, reported a packaging collection rate of 82% in the period from January to June 2026, compared to 79% in the same period last year.


The largest quantities of packaging were collected in Bucharest, followed by the counties of Ilfov, Timiș, Cluj, and Constanța. In the same period, RetuRO delivered approximately 187,300 tons of materials to recyclers, 6% more than in the first half of last year. The company specifies that the SGR infrastructure currently covers 92% of localities with over 1,500 inhabitants and 74% of those with over 200 inhabitants.
