Border police from the Nădlac Border Police Sector conducted random checks on the A1 Deva-Nădlac highway on Monday, where they stopped a passenger minibus. During the checks, they discovered in the luggage of a 25-year-old Romanian man a black box containing a compressed air pistol 'Elite II-Beretta' caliber 177 (4.5mm), a magazine, five CO2 capsules, and 1,500 4.5mm pellets.
The young man could not present the necessary documents for the legal possession of the weapon, which is why he was taken to the police station. The weapon and accessories were confiscated based on a report, and the police initiated investigations for the offense of violating the weapons and ammunition regime. The pistol and accessories were handed over to the Weapons, Explosives, and Dangerous Substances Service for further investigation.
