The Scorțoasa Municipality in Buzău County has requested a detailed report from the National Institute for Recovery, Physical Medicine and Balneoclimatology (INRMFB) regarding the mud from the Mud Volcanoes, in order to assess its therapeutic properties. These analyses are essential for obtaining the status of a tourist resort of local interest. Although INRMFB has mentioned that the mud is not known for its therapeutic virtues, a pharmacodynamic study and a clinical study are necessary to attribute this quality to it. The municipality has signed a contract for physicochemical and microbiological analyses of the mud, considering the tourist and medical development of the area. Additionally, researchers from the National Institute for Research and Development in Earth Physics have conducted advanced tests to study the soil structure in the Mud Volcanoes area.
