The Ministry of Finance published on Tuesday the draft budget for the year 2026, after several provisions created tensions within the governing Coalition. The draft is available on the institution's website in the decision-making transparency section.

The 2026 budget draft starts from an estimated deficit of 6.2% of GDP.

According to the draft, revenues are estimated at 391,728.8 million lei, while expenditures amount to 712,594.7 million lei in commitment credits and 527,413.3 million lei in budgetary credits, with a deficit of 135,684.5 million lei.

The documentation includes the Draft Law on the State Budget, the Draft Law on the Social Security Budget, and the Draft Law for the approval of the fiscal indicator ceilings for 2026.

Additionally, a Report on the macroeconomic situation for 2026 and its projection for 2027–2029 has been published.

Citizens can submit proposals and observations within 10 calendar days from publication. The budget for 2026 anticipates investments of approximately 20 billion euros, most of which come from European funds, including from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
