The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, made the first official statements regarding the death of the six children at the "Sfânta Maria" Hospital in Iași, highlighting the delay in reporting infections.

The Minister of Health emphasized that the responsibility for the causes of deaths lies with the forensic medicine expertise. Administratively, Rogobete highlighted a significant delay in reporting cases: the first infection occurred on September 13, but it was reported to the Public Health Directorate in Iași only on September 19, when there were already four infected patients. The minister described this delay as a serious lack of professionalism, mentioning that the Ministry of Health learned about the situation only on September 26, 13 days later. Rogobete stressed that reporting and monitoring should have been done from the first case, and the delay allowed the situation to worsen.
