The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, announced that at the dental clinic in Bucharest, where a two-year-old girl died after sedation, the authorizations were not issued properly. He emphasized that the clinic operates improvised and does not comply with legal standards. Rogobete called on the owners of private clinics to close their units if they do not comply with regulations, warning that the Ministry of Health will intervene to shut them down.
He also initiated a national inspection to check private clinics, as a result of which over 20 clinics were closed. The Minister mentioned that he will start an investigation by the College of Physicians to determine if there was malpractice involved. He emphasized that it is essential for these clinics to comply with the standards to prevent similar tragedies.
