On the occasion of International Students' Day, the Minister of Education, Daniel David, stated that his priority is to rebuild the scholarship fund, which has been affected by recent fiscal-budgetary measures. He emphasized that Romania needs more students and graduates, considering that, in recent years, many young people have not enrolled in college or have dropped out of their studies.

David announced initiatives such as the National Program for Reducing University Dropout (PNRAU), which aims to identify and control the factors contributing to this phenomenon. He also mentioned that, although the scholarship fund will increase in 2026 compared to 2023, this is not enough. The Minister promised that he will work on developing effective mechanisms to support students, including through the use of European funds.
