The mine hunter M 271 'Captain Constantin Dumitrescu' has covered a distance of over 4,200 nautical miles from the port of Rosyth, Scotland, where it was prepared, and arrived in Romania after 41 days. The ship transited various seas and straits, including the North Sea, the English Channel, and the Mediterranean Sea. This mine hunter, which has a crew of 40 sailors on board, is the second ship of the Sandown class purchased by Romania for 150 million euros, in response to the threats of naval mines in the Black Sea. The vessels are equipped with modern technology, including radar and sonar, to detect and neutralize naval mines. The procurement program includes logistical support and autonomous research systems, with a total estimated value of 150 million euros.
