Horațiu Potra, a mercenary accused of attempted coup, has been extradited from Dubai to Romania, being involved in a plan to destabilize the country.

Horațiu Potra, a mercenary close to former presidential candidate Călin Georgescu, is on his way to Romania, being escorted from Dubai after his arrest at the end of September. He, along with his son and grandson, have arrest warrants in absentia for attempted actions against the constitutional order, being accused of trying to incite violence in Bucharest in December 2024. Potra has agreed to return voluntarily to the country to participate in judicial proceedings, under the conditions that Romania does not have an extradition agreement with the United Arab Emirates.
