The general mayor of Bucharest, Ciprian Ciucu, announced on Facebook that he has decided to unblock the competitions for the positions of theater managers, in response to requests from cultural communities. The regulations for organizing these competitions were put up for public debate for two weeks, and the mayor emphasized that they will be improved if necessary.

The process will begin with the formation of the competition committees, and the applications for these will start in two weeks. The competitions for the director positions will be scheduled later. The mayor assured that these competitions will be conducted by specialists and will not be influenced by him.

The announcement comes after the Federation of Metropolitan Theaters complained about prolonged interim management and the lack of managerial stability in the theaters subordinate to the City Hall, thus affecting cultural activity. Representatives of the federation requested clarifications regarding the city's cultural policy, emphasizing the importance of a clear direction in managing cultural institutions.
