The interim mayor of Bucharest, Stelian Bujduveanu, stated that he does not support the ban on electric scooters, but proposes a regulation for their use, which could be adopted by the end of the year. In the first six months of the year, over 140 accidents involving scooters were reported. The regulation will address both the use of scooters in ride-sharing schemes and their circulation on public roads, establishing special zones for their parking and penalties for non-compliance with the rules. Bujduveanu emphasizes the need to bring order to the city and to prevent accidents.
