The mayor of Alba Iulia, Gabriel Pleșa, commented on the incidents during the National Day, when Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan was booed, and President Nicușor Dan faced negative reactions while laying wreaths. Pleșa stated that the hecklers are not locals, but people brought in from other areas, and announced that the event organizers will no longer receive approvals for events on this day.

The mayor emphasized that the residents of Alba Iulia have always demonstrated decency and unity in celebrating the National Day. He also mentioned that they respect democracy, but a decency in expression is necessary. At the events on Monday, supporters of AUR and sympathizers of other groups participated, but they avoided intersecting. The booing also occurred during the singing of the National Anthem.
