The National Cyber Security Directorate (DNSC) has reported an alarming increase in fraud attempts through phone calls (spoofing) targeting users of the Revolut platform, especially in the context of Black Friday campaigns. Attackers claim to represent Revolut or other financial institutions, trying to convince victims to confirm fictitious transactions or disclose sensitive data. Fraudsters use phone numbers that appear legitimate and adopt an urgent tone to pressure users. Revolut emphasizes that it will not contact users through direct phone calls unless these are previously arranged through its secure application. Users are advised to treat unsolicited calls as fraud attempts and not to disclose personal information or make payments. In 2024, Revolut managed to block fraudulent transactions worth over 600 million pounds.
