Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced on Tuesday, after discussions with the main energy suppliers about the necessary measures to maintain balance in the system, that in the coming days a government decision will be adopted that implements the mechanism provided by law for situations where voluntary reduction of consumption is not sufficient to cover the energy needs during peak hours and through which large consuming companies could be notified 24 hours in advance regarding the temporary limitation of consumption, depending on the specifics of the activity and the capabilities of the National Energy System.
"In the coming days we will adopt a government decision that implements the mechanism provided by law for situations where voluntary reduction of consumption is not sufficient to cover the energy needs during peak hours. Large consuming companies could be notified 24 hours in advance regarding the temporary limitation of consumption, depending on the specifics of the activity and the capabilities of the National Energy System. It is a reserve mechanism, which we are preparing to be used only if the situation requires it," the interim prime minister stated.
