The Romanian government adopted the solidarity package on Thursday, which includes financial support for low-income pensioners and children with disabilities. The Minister of Labor, Florin Manole, announced that the aid for pensioners will be granted in two installments, in May and December, ranging from 600 to 1,000 lei, depending on the level of the pension.
Thus, pensioners with pensions of up to 1,500 lei will receive 1,000 lei, those with pensions between 1,501 and 2,000 lei will benefit from 800 lei, and those with pensions between 2,001 and 3,000 lei will receive 600 lei. Additionally, the aid will also be granted to the heirs of pensioners. The minister mentioned that the delays in delivering the aid were caused by the complaint filed by AUR with the Constitutional Court. Furthermore, support for children with disabilities will significantly increase, with increased amounts for each degree of disability, thus ensuring better long-term support.
