The Romanian Government will adopt on Thursday an Emergency Ordinance (OUG) amended regarding the fuel crisis, extending the measures until June 30, 2026, instead of the six months initially planned.

The new version establishes that the commercial markup will be limited to the average annual value practiced in 2025, instead of 50% of the average of the last 12 months, as was previously planned. The OUG declares a crisis situation on the market of fuels and petroleum products until June 30, 2026, inclusive, with the possibility of extending it for a maximum of three months, as long as the circumstances that generated the crisis persist.

During the period from April 1 to June 30, 2026, economic operators in the value chain of petroleum products will have to cap the average commercial markup at the level of the value from 2025.

The Government meeting is scheduled for 11:00 AM.
