The 'Furnica' Hotel, a historic building in Sinaia, has been put up for sale by the Royal Family for the sum of 3.7 million euros. Inaugurated in 1912 and designed by architect Karel Liman, the property was initially intended as housing for the staff employed by the royal family. It is located on a plot of approximately 5,106 square meters and is currently closed, maintained under conservation status, with plans for renovation to be reintroduced into the tourist circuit. The building is part of the Royal Peleș Domain and is considered a symbol of the city of Sinaia, which hosts 11 historical architectural monuments of AAA class. The Minister of Culture confirmed the non-exercise of the right of preemption, and the property has been transferred to local authorities. The county councilors from Prahova are set to discuss the acquisition of the building, which previously served as a service complex for the Peleș Domain.
