The National Company for Road Investments (CNIR) announced that, starting Monday, 64 kilometers of the 'Union' Highway A8 Târgu Mureș-Târgu Neamț will enter the design phase. Lots 1C Sărățeni-Joseni and 2B Grințieș-Pipirig are considered the most difficult sections of highway in Romania. The Minister of Transport, Ciprian Șerban, emphasized the importance of this step for connecting Transylvania with Moldova.
The projects are complex, including over 30 passages, three tunnels for lot 1C, and lot 2B will have 60 bridges and passages, as well as 16 tunnels. The estimated time for completing the design is 14 months, and the works will last 40 months. This initiative aims to improve the road infrastructure in Romania, facilitating connectivity between historical regions and attracting new investments.
