The Foundation for the Defense of Citizens Against State Abuses (FACIAS) has won a court victory, obliging CFR Călători to communicate information about the purchases for the new ticket issuance IT system. The project was initiated to replace the old system, but problems arose after the delivery of the equipment, when CFR Călători did not have the necessary technical services secured.

Thus, the company continued to pay rent for the unused equipment, while it was forced to purchase maintenance services for the old system, generating parallel costs.

FACIAS requested details about the implementation status and associated costs, and the Bucharest Tribunal admitted the action, obliging CFR Călători to transmit the requested information. CFR Călători stated that all data is available on the company's website and contested the allegations of waste, highlighting the complexity of the system modernization process.
