The Constitutional Court of Romania is debating on Wednesday two referrals from President Nicușor Dan.

The Constitutional Court is analyzing on Wednesday two complaints filed by President Nicușor Dan, who contests the beach law and the amendments regarding protected natural areas, arguing that they violate constitutional provisions and may weaken environmental protection.

The two complaints were submitted back in November of last year and raise issues related both to the respect of the Constitution and to the compatibility of certain legislative provisions with European norms regarding environmental protection and the management of public goods.
