Monday, March 2, is the feast day of Saint Theodotus and Saint Nicholas Planas, lesser-known saints. Saint Theodotus, born in Galatia, was the bishop of Cyrene in Cyprus and was persecuted by the emperor Licinius for his faith. He endured severe tortures, including being burned on an iron grill and being beaten with nails in his feet, but remained steadfast in his faith, inspiring many to follow Christ. He died in 326, being released during the time of Constantine the Great.
Also, on March 2, we commemorate 94 years since the passing of Saint Nicholas Planas, known as the protector of the married. His life was dedicated to sacrifice and the example of Christian living, bringing peace to many families through his prayers. Although he does not promise protection from temptations, faith in his help provides the strength to overcome them.
