The climber Adrian Ahrițculesei from Petroșani left for Alaska to climb Mount McKinley, the last peak in the Seven Summits circuit.

The Romanian climber Adrian Ahrițculesei left for Alaska on Monday, aiming to conquer Mount McKinley (Denali), the highest peak in North America, with an altitude of 6,194 meters. This expedition, scheduled between June 1 and 21, represents the final challenge in the international Seven Summits circuit, where Ahrițculesei has already managed to climb six of the highest peaks in the world, including Everest. The climber stated that he is prepared for the expedition and hopes for favorable weather conditions. Together with a Romanian colleague settled in Germany, Ahrițculesei will arrive in Anchorage, and then will be transported on a glacier by a small plane to begin the ascent. In the past, he attempted to climb McKinley but had to give up due to unfavorable weather. Alongside his mountain achievements, Ahrițculesei has also reached the South Pole, becoming the first man from Romania to complete the Circuit of the 7 volcanoes.
