The CCR declared the amendment to the ANI Law constitutional, which leaves Fritz without a mandate.

The Constitutional Court decided on Monday that the phrase "the person who has relationships similar to those between spouses" in the ANI law is unconstitutional, but ruled that the amendment concerning the mayor of Timișoara, USR leader Dominic Fritz, regarding the automatic termination of public office 30 days after the law on incompatibility comes into force is constitutional.

Thus, the phrase "the person who has relationships similar to those between spouses" has been invalidated. Additionally, the CCR declared the obligation to publish the financial interest declarations of the spouse of public officials and dignitaries unconstitutional. In contrast, by a majority vote, the Court established that the automatic termination of public office or dignity 30 days after the law comes into force is constitutional.
