The Bucharest Tribunal decided on Wednesday to admit in principle Dan Voiculescu's request for a retrial of the ICA case, which concerns the privatization of the Institute of Food Research. Voiculescu, the founder of the Intact media group, was sentenced to 10 years in prison, of which he has served almost three years. This retrial could provide Voiculescu with a new opportunity to contest the conviction, in the context of the case having generated significant public interest and being a topic of discussion in the media. The tribunal's decision will allow for a detailed analysis of the circumstances and evidence in the case.
