The Bucharest Court of Appeal has decided to suspend the air traffic services of ROMATSA for one month, following a lawsuit filed by seven air traffic controllers who accuse the company of discrimination in hiring.
They claim that the positions are not advertised but filled through internal selection. The scandal began in 2019 when 12 graduates of the Civil Aviation High School reported discrimination to the National Council for Combating Discrimination, which ruled in their favor. ROMATSA was ordered to pay a fine of 10,000 lei and, following legal actions, the court decided to suspend ROMATSA's license. Representatives of ROMATSA announced that they would appeal and that the institution's activity continues normally until the dispute is resolved.
