The BNR will launch a silver coin dedicated to the 145th anniversary of the birth of Mihail Sadoveanu

The National Bank of Romania (BNR) will launch, on Monday, a silver coin to celebrate 145 years since the birth of the writer Mihail Sadoveanu. The selling price of the coin is 640 lei, excluding VAT, and includes a presentation brochure and a certificate of authenticity. The obverse of the coin illustrates a composition inspired by the story "The Wonderful Glade", featuring inscriptions such as "ROMANIA", the year of issue "2025", the coat of arms of Romania, and the nominal value "10 LEI".

The reverse presents the portrait of Mihail Sadoveanu, his name, and the years of his life "1880-1961". The coin has a diameter of 37 mm, a weight of 31.103 grams, being round with a milled edge and proof quality. The maximum mintage is 5,000 pieces, and the coins will be available through the regional branches of BNR. They have legal tender status in the territory of Romania.
