A man from Bucharest was awarded 2,000 euros in the first instance as compensation, five years after being bitten by a rat in front of his home while going down to pick up an order. The court established that the authorities did not take the necessary measures to combat rodents, obliging the City Hall and the Sector 1 City Hall to pay the compensation, however, the decision is not final. In light of new reports regarding the appearance of rats, the authorities are carrying out pest control actions in several areas of the Capital and are urging citizens not to throw food waste in public spaces.
